About Olivia

Olivia works on content strategy from Portland, Oregon. Her part of the job starts well before anybody opens a document: what question a page has to answer, whether it deserves to exist at all, and where it belongs in the rest of the site.

Her degree is in English and Digital Media — writing, publishing and audience behaviour — and she added the search half herself, through keyword research, content optimisation and search-intent work on live projects.

She began in content research and editorial support, writing individual articles. The shift came when she stopped asking how to write a page well and started asking whether the page should be written at all.

What she works on

Content planning and editorial calendars
Topic-cluster development

Background

How she got here

Education

Bachelor’s degree in English and Digital Media — writing, communication, digital publishing, audience behaviour and online content development.

Practical training

SEO alongside the degree and since: keyword research, content optimisation, and search-intent analysis applied to real pages rather than exercises.

Early work

Content research and editorial support — writing the articles first, then working out what should have been commissioned in the first place.

Now

Over three years at Infinity Linkers turning search research into editorial plans that writers can actually work from.

Her role

What she does at Infinity Linkers

Olivia turns search research into a plan. She decides which topics deserve their own page, which belong inside an existing one, and what order the whole thing gets built in.

The briefs she writes are the part clients rarely see. Each one sets out the audience, the primary search intent, the supporting questions, the recommended structure, and what has to appear early — so a writer can be useful to a reader and aligned with the SEO plan at the same time.

She also runs content refreshes. A published article is not finished forever: she reviews older pages for outdated information, gaps in search-intent coverage and weak structure, then works out which are worth strengthening rather than rewriting.

Approach

Nothing written to hit a word count

Olivia’s rule is that a page needs a reason to exist. Thin or repetitive content added to raise a total does not help a reader, does not hold a ranking, and quietly competes with the pages that were working.

So the plan is usually shorter than clients expect and more specific than they are used to. Away from the work she writes for herself, spends too long in independent bookshops, shoots film, hikes, and follows editorial design more closely than most people follow sport.
