About Amna

Amna writes the content that has to do two jobs at once: answer the question someone typed into a search box, and be worth reading once they have arrived. She works from Lahore across blog articles, website copy and content refreshes.

Her degree is in Mass Communication and Journalism, and it left her with editorial habits she still works by: research before writing, structure before sentences, and plain language in preference to clever language.

She came to SEO the way most good content writers do — by writing first, and then finding out that search intent, structure and internal linking decide whether any of it gets read. Four years in, three of them here, that combination is the whole job.

Background

How she got here

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism — editorial writing, research methods, media studies and audience psychology.

Early work

Blog articles, website copy and informational content for online businesses — the writing craft, before any of the search side.

Into SEO

Keyword research, search intent, content structure, topical relevance and internal linking — learned on live client pages rather than in theory.

Now

SEO blog content, website copy and content refreshes for Infinity Linkers clients, with more than four years of writing behind it.

Her role

What she does at Infinity Linkers

Amna’s work starts before the writing does. She researches the topic, looks at what people are actually asking, and settles what the page has to cover before the first sentence exists.

Keywords come into it, but not the way they once did. Rather than working a phrase into every paragraph, she builds the article around the questions behind the phrase — which is what this agency means by writing for search intent instead of keyword density.

She also handles content refreshes: reading older articles for outdated facts, thin sections, unclear formatting and subtopics that were missed the first time, then rewriting those parts rather than the whole page.

Approach

Useful first, optimised second

Amna’s test for a draft is a simple one: if somebody read only this page, would they leave with what they came for? An article that ranks and then disappoints is a short-term win, and the traffic goes straight back where it came from.

Away from work she does calligraphy, reads contemporary fiction, photographs Lahore’s older architecture and cooks from unfamiliar recipes. She also keeps a notebook of interesting words and article ideas she has not used yet, which is probably the most honest description of how she thinks about language.
